The gen-2 Kobo is a home run. I have the Gen-1 alloy kobo, the Phenolic kobo and the new Purple Heart model. The gen-2 allow model is my favorite. The differentiator is the textured surface on the Gen-2 alloy. It facilitates a great grip even in clinch / grappling range - with a fully resisting opponent. Thank you, Gents. Great job!

it's gorgeous, very solid, excellent weight and ergonomics but... the surface is too rough on the skin, maybe all the engraved details should have been smoothed out a little.
I will try to fix it, let's see if it gets better.

I have wanted a kobo for a while as I have carried a kubton for 40 years. This thing is awesome. Not too light, not too heavy and the surface finishe is perfect.

I like how it is compact and very light. And I will enjoy watching videos and learning about this new thing called a kobo. I have seen many sticks and type of weapons, but not like this. I have read it can be used for pressure points and joint locks. I am interested in learning more in the coming months and years. It is very well made and I like the machined pattern like grip. So great job with this product!

Exceded expectation! Not as flimsy as some Kubotons thinner in diameter than a pencil. The weight is perfect, as is diameter. Carried all day the day got it front pocket back pocket in My waistband adjacent My firearm and just in hand. Was asked once if it was a new vape as designs caught the vapers eye. Great for pressure point and joint manipulation. Having both ends blunt will assist you in court if need be. What do I think its Awesome, I will retire the expandable baton for now in place of Kobo.

What’s up guys. I don’t normally leave reviews but I will for this. Excellent piece of gear. Part of my EDC now replacing another sub par kobo I had. Built like a tank & sexy as hell. It fits in my pocket but I think I’m going to try to create a clip or holding device? Maybe a C clamp or pen type holder where you can secure it into your belt for IWB / OWB carry. maybe that’s something you guys can come up with and sell along side!?

When i was a kid i was taught nerve strikes with a dowel rod. I carried it in my back pocket for years. This piece is perfect. Not only can it strike hard, but its beautiful in its simplicity.

I work as a locksmith in some pretty bad parts of the city. Having access to this if confronted and with no way to run is a big help. Absolutely love it’s size and the craftsmanship. The, whatchamacallit, kubaton, is elegant to the eye.
It's also a primal tool. I bought one for my lady and one for myself. An easily handled rigid ... wand, let's say, in the eyes or across the knuckles will buy time. Any way to stop the bad guy's flow and maybe take sente is a good thing.
Me? 73 year old stroke survivor, not Chuck Norris! But, you know, "When strong, appear weak." My half pound bronze mala and this puppy ought to buy this weak looking guy some time.

Picked up this larger kubaton from and I’m loving the size and weight. Large enough to draw quickly and easily from the pocket and strike with either end. Light enough to carry but with enough heft to do real damage. Beautiful craftsmanship, really digging it.

In addition to martial arts, i do like collecting. So I am very happy with my three kubos. I love the weight of the brass for practising flow and the wood for practicing hammers, punches and slash strikes w a partner. The allow one is a great in between kubo though - similar weight to the wood, same chiseled geometry as the brass. Great job guys.

I often find myself practicing escrima drills with a makeshift kali stick from a chair leg and my kobo as well for close quarter defense when I’m indoors and keep my bokken and nunchaku when I’m outdoors with more space.
